Policies
Quality Policy
Bluewire is committed to creating value for our customers and clients by providing concrete benefits in the form of quality services and products. We subscribe to the guidelines laid down by the 'Total Quality Management System' when building our products:
- Establishing benchmarks for all phases in the development of services and products.
- Setting up systems, procedures and standards to minimize and continuously eradicate errors and defects, whilst making gradual incremental changes.
Making key decisions based on quality considerations.
Quality Management Systems
We focus on preventing faults and errors at every stage. To this end, we have an internal quality structure which involves:
- Internal quality audits to ensure excellence at a project level while simultaneously conducting comprehensive internal audits across all groups and all projects.
- Automatic testing through the use of a range of industry standard tools and Technologies, including a comprehensive suite of unit tests and a continuous integration server.
- Internal acceptance testing, provided by our in-house QA team.
- Continuous records of all changes to the product and our processes are recorded and documented using a revision control system (Subversion).
To implement these quality management systems, we have a set of planning processes, which revolve around quality assurance and quality controlling activities.
Quality Assurance activities include defining processes, mapping them and then implementing these defined processes, training of teams, holding periodic quality audits and implementing project management practices. Quality Control activities involve reviews of all the work products once they have been released, through inspections, walkthroughs and product testing.
Project Management Systems
At Bluewire, we use the latest engineering methodologies to manage, time and deliver projects on schedule to the client. In particular, we adhere to agile development practices. This minimizes risk and helps create a higher quality product by developing software in small timeboxes. The agile development methodology also emphasizes realtime communication, preferably face-to-face, over written documents, which ensures faster delivery.
Keeping the channels of communication open with a client is vital to the control and the predictability regarding each project and it's status. We build automated quality auditing components into our software (error and fault logging mechanisms), which ensure that all issues are reported directly to us. Customers are continually kept abreast of the status of the projects in addition to the normal lines of communication.
Besides this, we also encourage one-on-one interaction between the clients and the development teams whenever required. Our personnel also work toward fostering mutual understanding, trust and confidence through regular visits to clients' sites.
Planning and Organization of work, resource and manpower is undertaken to ensure that there are no setbacks in the functioning of the product and no delays in the delivery of projects due to unplanned lead times and ramp-up schedules. The periodic planning process takes into account the projects in the pipeline, their start dates and estimated man-hours requirements and time schedules, the skills required and the infrastructure.
Quality Assessment in Recruiting
In implementing the policy of "Right person for the right job", we recognise the utmost importance of the personnel recruited, the development and updating of skill sets, regular evaluation and training. Our processes for recruitment, employee development and allocation assure the quality of the people we recruit and the training we impart, as well as the availability of people with the right skills.
Stringent written tests and interviews to judge the aptitude, technical skills and the attitude of the potential recruit are conducted with a view to enriching the organization with the right people while simultaneously developing a perspective on quality.
Support Systems
Infrastructure and human resources are mission critical factors when it comes to Support mechanisms for Bluewire. Allocation of space, hardware and communications resources is attended to, dependent on our clients' requirements.
As part of our Support Systems, we provide all our engineers with the facility to securely access the desktops and servers of all customers at their request (using TeamViewer(tm) desktop sharing). This makes for more intuitive, quicker training, quicker problem-solving and better overall technical support.
