Innovative technology on the move

Epro is fully enabled for operation on the latest, powerful tablet PCs allowing busy clinicians the freedom and flexibility to work how and where they want. Patient Identification, clinical documentation, prescribing, picture taking and dictation are all performed using a single device, also known as a Mobile Clinical Assistant, (MCA).

MCAs combine the full power of a notebook PC with the natural versatility and mobility of pen and paper and are completely sealed to facilitate appropriate disinfection. EproInk software provides advanced handwriting capabilities to enable the creation, storage and transmission of handwritten notes. Clinicians enjoy the flexibility of being able to write and draw directly onto the screen using digital ink.

Bluewire Technologies work with industry partner Motion Computing to closely combine our feature-rich, clinical management software solutions with the most mobile PC ever, the Motion C5. The Motion C5 has been chosen by Connecting for Health as the recommended tablet pc solution for the NHS in England and Wales. With an estimated 40,000 units already ordered, this versatile, high performance tablet pc is quickly proving itself in the fast moving world of medical IT.

Together, by using integrated high-speed wireless connectivity, Epro products and the Motion C5, unite mobile technologies to deliver a new freedom to examine, check and modify patient information wherever and whenever needed. Patient data can be accessed, updated and shared at any time.

Patient safety is superior. Duplicated documentation is eliminated, decreasing the potential for transcription and medication administration errors. Epro utilises the barcode scanning capabilities of the C5 to automatically load the correct patient data to the screen with the laser-fast scan of the patient's barcoded wristband, file or prescription chart. Patient mismatching is further prevented by using the inbuilt C5 camera. A photograph of the patient stored with the patient record in Epro, can be quickly compared with the patient in front of the doctor or nurse at the bedside. The camera can of course, also take digital pictures of areas for treatment or wound sites, for storage within the Epro patient record.

Security

Aware of the inherent patient confidentiality issues surrounding a mobile patient management product, the EproTablet PC solution incorporates the highest levels of data security. Patient records are encrypted at all times and added measures such as fingerprint recognition may be incorporated on top of password protection, if required.

Integration

The EproTabletPC solution loaded on to the C5 for is already fully configured for wireless network and internet access.

All of the security features of Windows XP Professional – including encryption, are present and IT Managers will like it, because it is easy to deploy and manage.
